The Spanish probably more than any other European nation know how to celebrate. Cities all over Spain have calendars chocked full of fiestas. One of our favourites is held annually each March in Valencia.
Las Fallas celebrates St. Joseph's Day and the week leading up to it sees locals parading their ninots (puppets or dolls) through the streets before mounting them on monuments filled with firecrackers and cardboard. Then on March 19th all the ninots except one are burnt in a huge event where it feels as if the entire city is ablaze.
If you enjoy the experience of a great party and fireworks then this could be the festival for you!
